Fixed fee interview An initial interview of half an hour for around £30.

The Citizens Advice Bureau will tell you if either of these schemes apply to you. They will also tell you which solicitors specialise in your subject and, if you wish, they will make an appointment for you.

Before seeing a solicitor

Make some notes to remind you of points you wish to make and questions you want to ask.
If there are important facts a solicitor should know, take time to write them down, including details of dates, times, order of events etc.
Remember to take with you ALL relevant documents. Take a recent payslip if you think you may be entitled to advice under the Legal Advice and Assistance Scheme.
